Merge a Mini Army How to Deploy and Recall Troops
A limited army leaves the pad. Dead toys come home. The click that wins a camp is the click you can replace.
Deploy is the moment Merge a Mini Army stops being a merge puzzle and becomes a six-player map. You send a limited stack toward a flag. Those units walk slowly. If they die, they return to the pad so you can merge again. If you send the only apex model you own, you just donated the chapter. This page is the deploy and recall rule. The mid-article video is a live Merge a Mini Army session so you can see how long a walk actually takes.
Read Getting Started if you have not captured the starter camp. Read how to capture camps for the flag order. Stay here if you keep losing fights you already paid for.
What deploy actually spends
Max deployment is a slider, not a mood. Early footage sat at three units out, then six, then a higher cap once cash allowed. Whatever the number is in your client, treat it as a hard ceiling. You cannot flood the map with the whole Index. You pick a chapter stack and you live with the leftovers at base.
Those leftovers matter. A pad that sends everything cannot merge the refunds when the stack dies. Leave twins at home. Leave one reserve apex if you have only one. Bax lost an airfield the moment the reserve tank walked out by accident. The merge planner exists so you do not empty the board for a garrison you already own.
Speed is the hidden cost
Infantry crawl. Bikers still crawl. Tanks crawl. Planes and helicopters in later footage still crawl compared with the size of the map. A deploy toward the airfield is a commitment measured in tens of seconds, not a flick. If a neighbor is already on the point with a helicopter, your shotgun stack will arrive as a gift.
Plan the walk before you click. Look at the camp route. Starter flag and garrison are short walks. Army compound is a middle chapter. Airfield and HQ are late walks. If the stack cannot win the destination, do not start the walk. Recall is cheaper than a wipe that returns junk while the neighbor farms your abandoned camp.
When to recall
Recall pulls the living stack home. Use it when the destination is already lost, when a bounty hunter is crossing your path, or when the pad is locked and you need the bodies back to merge. Do not recall out of panic during a fight you are winning. The walk back costs the same time as the walk out.
Death is a soft recall. Returned troops are the economy. Pair them immediately. If you chase a neighbor across the map after a wipe, you will watch the pad overflow with unmerged refunds. How to beat other players is about walking away so you can merge.
What to send by chapter
Starter camp. A short infantry or shotgun stack. Do not send a unique tank.
Garrison. Bikers or an ATV if you have twins at home. Keep the first tank in reserve unless the point is empty.
Army compound. Missile truck or first tank, plus a cheap escort. If the compound already shows a helicopter, wait.
Airfield and HQ. Heavy, Mammoth, or Elite stacks only. If you cannot replace the model, you are not ready. The best army page is the chapter list in letter form.
Never send leftover soldiers “to help.” Footage called sightseeing deploys a waste of the deployment cap. They arrive late, they die first, and they occupy a slot a real twin needed.
Deploy versus merge
If the pad has two legal twins and a fight you already started, merge at base first. The fight will finish without your click. The twins will not. Auto Merge on a long session still needs a human to decide what leaves the pad. A script that auto-deploys everything is how you lose Elite Tank. Leave Auto Deploy off unless you are watching. See auto merge scripts and how to use scripts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Merge a Mini Army questions.
Do dead troops disappear forever?
No. They return to the pad. That is why a wipe is expensive in time, not in Index progress.
Should I deploy my only Elite Tank?
Only if you can replace it or the flag is already empty. One Elite is a reserve until you have twins.
Why is my army so slow?
Movement is part of the current build. Even air units crawl. Capture nearby camps first.
Does Recall cost cash?
Footage treated it as a free pull-back. The real cost is the walk time you already spent.
Can I deploy the whole pad?
No. Max deployment is a cap. Sending everything also freezes merges at home.
