How to Merge Troops in Merge a Mini Army
The only combat recipe that matters: twins, empty slots, and Spawn Tier before anything shiny.
Merging is the whole game. Every later page — camps, Rebirth, Elite Tank — assumes you can turn two toys into one stronger toy without freezing the pad. This article is that skill. The mid-page video is Bax walking the Index from soldiers to Elite Tank on a live server.

The rule
Pick up a unit and drop it on an identical unit. The pair becomes the next tier. Creators count those tiers as powers of two: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, then tanks, planes, and Elites. You do not need the exact HUD number. You need two twins and a free square.
Mismatched models will not combine. A Biker on an ATV is just a mess. A Heavy Tank on a starter soldier is a waste of a click.
Spawn Tier is the real merge
Buying Spawn Tier means new units already appear partway up the ladder. Bax called this the only upgrade he cared about once the first camp was stable. If you spawn tier-1 soldiers forever, you will spend the session assembling twins that a single purchase would have skipped.
Raise Spawn Tier, then merge the higher twins into the next landmark: shotgun infantry, Biker, ATV, missile truck, first tank. The troop roster names those landmarks. The merge planner lists the buy order next to them.
Capacity is a hard stop
Base capacity is the number of models the pad can hold. When it fills, you cannot spawn and you often cannot merge if the engine needs a temporary slot. Leave two empty spaces. If you are jammed, merge any legal pair or deploy the weakest stack to the nearest camp just to make room.
Max deployment is a different slider. It is how many units may leave the base at once. Early footage showed three, then six. A later session sat at a higher cap once cash allowed. Do not max deployment before capacity — you will send a crowd and come home to a pad that cannot accept the dead.
Chains beat singles
A good cycle looks like this: spawn two, merge, spawn two, merge the new pair into the leftover twin, spend cash on Spawn Tier, repeat. Creators who sat in Auto Merge still did this mentally — they just let the pass click for them. Auto Merge is a Robux convenience, not a new rule. Do not merge away your only high unit before a fight you already started. Keep one apex model in reserve while the rest of the pad cooks. Bax lost an airfield the moment he accidentally deployed the reserve tank.
What the Index is telling you
The Index is the collection of models you have discovered. Mid-game tanks sat thousands of tiers apart. Late Index entries asked for tens of millions. Two final slots looked pack-only in Bax’s session. That means merge skill has a ceiling and Robux has a skip. Play to the merge ceiling first. Merging after a fight
Death is not failure. Returned troops are cheaper than shop packs. Recall or wait out a wipe, then immediately pair whatever came home.
